Our Team
Kelli Bottger
Executive Director
Kelli Bottger brings a wealth of electoral, legislative and educational leadership experience to the educational reform movement. As Louisiana Kids Matter’s Executive Director, Kelli works closely with state leaders, elected officials and coalition partners on education policy and electoral plans.
Michelle Braud
Deputy Director, Implementation and Programs
Michelle was born and raised in Louisiana and immersed in its culture of festivals, foods, and family. During and after high school, Michelle worked as a caretaker for children, and worked in the accounting and shipping departments in the chemical industry. Later, Michelle married and stayed home to raise her two children, one with a learning disability. During this time she volunteered and belonged to organizations to help those in need in her community.
Julie Talbot
Deputy Director, Political Development
Raised in a rural community in north Louisiana, Julie comes from a family deeply rooted in public education — both of her parents were teachers at the school she attended from kindergarten through 12th grade. Inspired by a commitment to public service, she began her career in Washington, D.C., serving six years on the staff of U.S. Congressman Jim McCrery before working for Louisiana Governor Mike Foster. These formative experiences shaped her understanding of public policy, governance, and principled leadership.
